Super Collider (Megadeth acoustic cover)

Hey, here's my cover of Super Collider off Megadeth's brand new album..."Super Collider". :D This song wasn't recorded with acoustic guitars, but I thought that it sounded good acoustically, so that's how I recorded it. I'm do an electric version too, sometime, don't worry, lol.

Here it is, hope you like!

Song of the day: Forget to Remember

This is one of my favorite tracks on the new Megadeth album "Super Collider". I thought this was a really good track, it's heavy(D tuning), but at the same time it has a kind of...how should I put it..."Hard-rock"? feel to it? I dunno. But also combined with a sad feel. I like it. I almost thought I'd heard the song before while I was listening to it...
Also, I thought the chorus was catchy, like ALL choruses should be, in my opinion. :D

The song starts with a single solitary guitar plunking away with distortion for the first 15 seconds, then all guitars bass and drums burst into a big epic sounding wave of awesomeness! WHOO!!!! YEA!!!! *calms down* Anyway, then at 0:30 the vocals start, with a simple palm-muted guitar riff behind the vocals:

"Sands in the hourglass fall for us all
You don't answer me anymore when I call
So much is trapped inside, tangled in your brain
It's getting cold outside and it looks like rain
The sky is falling and my heart is caving in"

Now, Dave Mustaine the vocalist is over 50 years old now, so his singing is quite low and gruff. But that's okay, doesn't effect me too much, but it might make you guys roll your eyes, I dunno. :D Then at 1:00 a little bridge cuts off the verse, and then it goes into the chorus at 1:04:

"So, now the time has come to say the long goodbye
The setting of the sun reflecting in your eyes
Day after day after day the world will pass you by
You forget to remember"

Then at 1:29 after the chorus, it goes into a short solo by Dave Mustaine, which wasn't bad, and then goes back into the verse riff:

"If this is living, what the h*** is living for?
You've boarded up your eyes, you mind has locked the door
I'm just a stranger now with an unfamiliar face
You can't recall me at all,
There's not a trace...not a trace...not a trace
I don't know where you are and my world is crumbling in"

And then it goes into the chorus again:

"So, now the time has come to say the long goodbye
The setting of the sun reflecting in your eyes
Day after day after day the world is passing you by
You forget to remember"

After that, at 2:40, a new riff starts, with Chris Broderick on lead guitar soloing in the background, and Dave Mustaine saying a new vocal line, conversing with some girl, by the sound of it...

Dave: "I just wanna talk..." Girl: "What do you want?"
Dave: "But you've got nothing to say..." Girl: "Leave me alone"
Dave: "I beg you to come" Girl: "Get away from me..."
Dave: "And you just walk away..." Girl: "I have no idea who you are!"
"I curse the day that your smile fades away, till then I pray"

Then the song gets kind of quiet, with one of the guitars sustaining a note, while the other guitar is riffing, with Dave Mustaine saying:

"A burning candle in-between and at both ends
With all that we've learned, yet we still pretend
I just wish you could say my name again"

Then starts singing again, with the guitars bass and drums back in full force:

"They made the lock and broke the key,
The culprit was the mercury
The vaccine wipes your memories
Till you forget even how to breathe
A tangled web they weave, when they practice to deceive"

And then back to the chorus!!!

"So now the time has come to say the long goodbye
the setting of the sun reflecting in your eyes
day after day after day the world has passed you by
I said that I'd be strong, but you know I had to lie

You forget...to remember...you forget...to remember...It's time to say the long goodbye."

And that ends a great track off Megadeth's new album "Super Collider". My thanx to Megadeth for continuing their writing of great music!!! :D

Breadline (Megadeth cover)

Alright, here's my cover of Breadline, by Megadeth off their album "Risk". This song isn't very....heavy, lol, so I pulled the acoustic out for this one. My apologies for the sloppy playing, I hadn't practiced it a whole lot after learning it all that morning. Hope you like!

My interview with André(AKA, "Danielbandfan")

Alright, I've decided that I'm gonna post an interview with someone once a week here on my blog, just for the halibut. Here's my interview with André, a fellow Canadian metalhead who hails from the CMR(http://thecmr.forumotion.com).

Alright, let's get started...

Metal15: First of all, what's up?

André: I'm answering some metalhead's questions, you?

Metal15: How's the weather?

André: Too hot and humid, for me, because...

Metal15: What country do you live in? (If I may ask...)

André: ...Because I live in Canada. :D

Metal15: What life experiences have shaped your personality and your outlook/worldview on life?

André: My family(especially my dad), church friends, schoolmates, and teachers.

Metal15: What are your views on God? And do you believe he's watching you 24/7?

André: I believe in the Christian God, and all three persons associated. I believe he sees everything, because he's omniscient and omnipresent and stuff.

Metal15: Do you believe in Heaven and Hell? If so, what are your basic opinions on the subject?

André: I believe in such an afterlife. Heaven: True believers are brought to paradise, then after the day of judgement are brought to the new earth. Hell: Unbelievers are brought to a dark, weeping-gnashing-of-teeth place, then after the day of judgement are thrown into the lake of fire along with their leader.

Metal15: Do you believe there is such a thing as "Predestination", and that every action and decision you make has been "predestined" and known by God?

André: Predestination? No. Foreknowledge? Yes.

Metal15: Do you believe in premarital abstinence?

André: Yes.

Metal15: Do you believe in dating? BF/GF?

André: I don't believe in high-school/college dating, but I think that when young adults are mature enough, they can court. Thus, I am single and I will probably stay single past high-school.

Metal15: Do you have a favorite band/musical group?

André: Currently, I like Rev Seven, because Bill(and Bruce) is an epic riff writer. :P

Metal15: Do you have a favorite song of all time?

André: I don't really have one of all time, but I currently can't stop spinning "Driven" by Rush.

Metal15: Do you have a favorite book series?

André: Maybe not a book series, more like a short story series, but I like the Sherlock Holmes books. And the Professor Challenger series, too. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a great writer. :)

Metal15: What's your favorite movie/movies?

André: I dig "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" - that is, any Tolkien-inspired movie. Also, I like "Food, Inc." as food for thought.

Metal15: Do you have a personal site? After this interview people might be thinking "Whoa, this guy/girl is awesome, I wanna check out his/her blog/twitter/facebook/website..." etc.

André: Readers who like Christian metal would be well served by liking "facebook.com/danielbandfan"

Metal15: And lastly...How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

André: Chuck Norris. :D

Thanx, André, and have an awesome day! :D
