Song of the day: Sin

Another Megadeth song. This one is off their album "Cryptic Writings", same as the other song I posted "Use the Man". This song is called Sin.

When I'm in a good mood, I like to listen to band albums in great detail. I like to go through every song and hear all the little sections, structures and patterns. It's really fun, and self-satisfying. :D So don't mock me if I describe my experiences in detail about a song, please. :D

I was browsing through this album, educating myself, listening to all the details in every song, when I came across this short little 3 minute song called "Sin". So, like the other songs I began listening to it, open mindedly. The song started out with an A and D note together with some odd sounding tremolo effect on it, making it sound kinda like a harmonica. As the song continued, I wasn't super impressed with the beginning riff. It sounded too happy to me, lol. And then at 0:22 when the verse kicked in and Dave Mustaine started singing, It sounded WAY too happy, lol. At least, in my opinion. :D Then, it took an interesting turn, at 0:38 it almost got a little spooky. The combinations of the vocals and the guitar riffs gave it a cool feel. Then at 0:52 it went into a very short solo with a cool rhythm underneath...But literally, that solo only lasted for like 8 seconds. o.0 Anyway, moving on... Then it went back to the happy sounding verse again and the spooky part, followed my a lot more solos at 1:34. And this time the solos were much longer. :D Both guitars kinda went back and forth with these solos, Dave Mustaine would do the first solo(which started out sounding like the neighing of a horse...), followed by Marty Friedman with another solo, followed by Dave Mustaine with another solo, followed again by Marty Friedman with yet another solo, which would end with them both soloing at once drawing this section of the song to a climactic close which I enjoyed a lot. I like it when guitar players show off their stuff. :D The rhythms underneath those solos were very interesting also, I thought they fit well. Once the soloing ended at 2:12, there was a cool sounding build-up riff of a few sliding power chords. This is one of the things I love about Megadeth, they can make something as simple as a few power chords and give it depth and meaning to the song and make it sound cool. Anyway, after the build up, at 2:20 the song took a turn that I didn't really expect. It got really spooky. I dunno, something about the vocals overtop the notes made a really spooky feel, combined with the lyrics:

Pressure coming down
Down on me, gonna break
Broken fingernails
Digging in, scratch my face

Nervous, like a cat
Gonna jump through my skin
Shadows on the wall
Stretching out, grope for me

Reasons, deep in me
Let me be
Let me bleed
Set me free
The reasons that we sin

And that ended the song. I was very impressed with this track, and I've listened to it a lot today. :D So this comes to show you, DO NOT listen to just the first few seconds of a song and not give it a chance. Listen to the WHOLE song and THEN place your verdict so to speak. :D

Alright, after all that, here's the song, finally. :D

I'm sick. I hate being sick.

Anyone else hate being sick? *raises hand*
